Alvin Thomas Newsom

Alvin Thomas Newsom, the son of the late William Alton Thomas Newsom and Betsy Woods Newsom, was born Aug. 25, 1950, in Fort Cobb.

Mr. Newsom died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022, at his residence in Gideon, MO, at the age 72 years.

He is survived by two daughters, Jacquline Roney of Hobart and Lorrie Newsom of Sikeston, MO.; 3 sons, Rollen Newsom, Tony Newsom and wife, Jamie and Kevin Newsom and wife, Caitlynn all of Duncan; 1 sister, Ecil Kight of Tahlequah; 1 brother, Odie Woods of Oklahoma City; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his former wife, Peggy Gandy Newsom; and one sister, Lela Roddy.
