Cynthia Gilland

Cynthia Gilland, age 78 of Blanchard, passed away Monday, Oct. 17, 2022, at Senior Village Healthcare Center. Cynthia Ann Brown was born on Sept. 21, 1944, in Comanche. She was one of five children born to Rufus Oscar Brown and Callie Otis (Doyle) Brown. She was raised in Comanche and attended school there, graduating with the Class of 1962. She then attended college for a short time. She married the love of her life, Glendal Ray Gilland, and they made their home in Duncan.

Cynthia was a woman of great faith and a longtime Stephens United Methodist Church member in Duncan. Shen loved tending to her garden and was crafty. She enjoyed cross-stitching and crocheting and shared her many talents with her family and friends. She was a lifetime member of both the Cooking Club of America, and the National Home Garden Club. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glendal Ray Gilland; her parents, Rufus and Callie Brown and her siblings, sister Lefredia Hobbs, Pete Brown, Sammie J. Brown and Billy G. Brown.
Cynthia is survived by nephew John Hobbs and wife Karen of Purcell, and a host of other family and friends.
Graveside Funeral Services were scheduled for Monday, Oct. 24, 2022, at Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche. www.wilsonlittle.com.
