Vehicle accident sends two to hospital

According to an Oklahoma High Patrol report, a single-vehicle accident northwest of Comanche sent two people to an Oklahoma City hospital early Sunday morning.

The reported stated Justin R. Lavey, 32, of Comanche was traveling north on County Road 2810 in a GMC Sierra when he lost control of the truck he was driving, departed the roadway to the right, overcorrected and departed the roadway to the left before striking a tree.

He and his passenger, Cody D. Young, 40, of Duncan were taken by helicopter to OU Medical in Oklahoma City where both were admitted in critical condition with head, leg and trunk internal injuries.

The scene was investigated by the OHP with assistance from the Comanche Police Department, Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, Empire Fire Department, Meridian Fire Department and others.
