Comanche cross country previews state
The Comanche Cross Country team got a sneak peek at the state course last Saturday at the 2022 Edmond Pre-State Cross Country Meet.
The Lady Indians finished seventh overall in the girls division and the Indians finished 11th overall in the boys’ division.
The boys were led by a top 10 finish from sophomore Brycen Lassley who placed seventh overall with a time of 17:49.95 in the 5k course. Noah Presgrove, who had played in a football game the night before, placed second on the team and 65th overall with a time of 20:29.62 and Jaxson Billigsley was close behind for third on the team and 67th overall with a time of 20:32.75.
Hunter Lassley was 82nd overall (21:13.28), Gage Jessen was 129th (24:33.04) and David Tidwell was 147thh (30:25.65)
On the girls side, the Lady Indians were led by sophomore Brilee Combs who finished 13th overall with a time of 13:32.09 over the 3200-meter course. Karsynn Bowles was next for Comanche in 46th place with a time of 14:49.32.
They were followed by Ava Foraker (15:46.71) in 73rd, Cheyenne Hodges (16:10.07) in 80th, Sarai Alvarez (18:20.23) in 107th, Kilee Frye (18:265.01) in 109th and Lilianna Rocha (20:51.39) in 117th.
The teams had a meet Tuesday at Velma-Alma and will next run Oct. 4 at Frederick.
