September 29, 2020

On Feb. 1, 2019, Raul Abelardo Solis was severely injured in a hit-and-run accident on Highway 53 a couple miles west of Comanche. He later died at an Oklahoma City hospital from his injuries.

According to accident reports from the time, Solis was hit by a driver while riding his bicycle, sending the man over a guard rail into a drainage ditch.

There were some clues, but not much progress was made looking for the possible suspect vehicle involved in the accident.

Almost two years later, his parents, Jose Raul Solis Rios and Miriam Solis Cruz, are still seeking answers. According to a letter from the family, there has not been an arrest made in the case.

The family is asking for people in the community to help put the family’s mind at ease by finding the driver of the vehicle.

“We ask for your support and information, any information,” the letter says.

The family is offering a reward for any information that leads to closure.

The family asks that anyone with information to contact OHP trooper Jason Riddle, who is the lead investigator in the accident at Traffic Homicide Investigation, Troop G, 705 E. Gore Blvd., Lawton, OK 73501 or call the office at 580-353-0783.

The family said you can also contact them at 609 S. 7th Street, Comanche, OK 73529
