Bain named all-conference

For a second straight season, Oklahoma Christian forward Brooklin Bain made the All-Lone Star Conference basketball team, chosen by league coaches for second-team honors on the list announced last Wednesday night.

Bain, a second-year freshman from Comanche, finished second in the LSC in both scoring (16.9 points per game) and rebounding (10.0 per game). She recorded 14 double-doubles, also second in the LSC and tied for 19th in NCAA Division II.

She also shot 42.7 percent from the field (eighth in the LSC) and 74.3 percent from the free-throw line (14th in the LSC).

Last season, the 5-foot-10 Bain was the LSC’s freshman of the year and an All-LSC first-team selection in basketball. She quickly transitioned to softball and also earned All-LSC honors in that sport, then received All-South Central Region second-team honors.

Bain’s mother, Misti Mitchell (Bain), also played basketball for Oklahoma Christian and coach Stephanie Findley and was a two-time All-Sooner Athletic Conference first-team selection. She received honorable mention on the NAIA All-America list in 1994.
