Longtime Comanche resident Asa Loftin Jr. passed away on Sept. 15, 2020 . Asa was born in O’Dell, Texas on Oct. 13, 1934 to Asa Anderson Loftin Sr. and Lily May Cade Loftin.

He married Linda Gail Mitchell on Oct. 17, 1962, and together they had four children.  With Linda by his side, Asa lived a full life.  They shared many adventures and traveled many places, living all around the United States. In his early years he worked as a machinist for Rockwell in Dallas. He also drove a cab, delivered eggs for Dunigans and was a machinist for Murray Gin in Dallas.  Later Asas entered into the dairy business and milked cows for many years.

Asa moved to Comanche in 2004. He worked at the Comanche Senior Center delivering meals and helping residents. He told daily jokes, and assisted the sick and homebound.

Asa was saved at the age of 14 in 1948, and he loved the Lord God.  He was a member of the Comanche Church of God, and later Praise Assembly of Comanche. He took every opportunity to tell of his savior, Jesus Christ, and to help those around him every chance he could. He and his best friend, Kenneth Brooks had a special bond of ministry together.

Asas loved the people and community of Comanche and the surrounding area. He was active in raising cattle and could be found most often at the sale barn with fellow cattleman and good friend Jimmy Wayne Bowden.
