Quick Action Helps Contain Fire at Comanche First Baptist Church

A small fire broke out Tuesday on the property of First Baptist Church Comanche, but quick action by a passerby and local first responders helped prevent the blaze from spreading.

A passerby noticed the fire and called it in. Comanche police officers were the first to arrive and began controlling the fire, using a water hose on the property to wet the area while the Comanche Fire Department was en route.

Pastor Mark Hall and his wife, LeAnna, expressed their gratitude following the incident.

“Praising the Lord that a passerby called it in, or it could have been a different outcome,” the Halls said. “Thank you to the firefighters and the police officers who were first on scene and used our water hose to get things wet until firefighters arrived.”

The quick response helped keep the small blaze under control and prevented what could have become a more serious fire.
