Jackie (Jack) E. Hollinsworth, age 89, passed away on Sunday afternoon, January 11, 2025 at his home in Duncan. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 20, at 10 a.m. at the Comanche Funeral Home, with Rev. Garrison Hopper officiating, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Interment was held at 2 p.m. at the Fort Sill National Cemetery. Viewing was on Monday, 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. The family received friends from 5-7 p.m.
Jack was born May 13, 1936, in Comanche, to Marvin and Addie (Calaway) Hollinsworth. He was a graduate of Comanche High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, where he retired with more than 20 years service, including tours during the Viet Nam Conflict. On April 25, 1958, he and Shirlee Carlson were united in marriage in San Diego, CA. Following the death of his beloved wife, he later married Virginia Price, on February 29, 2020. She also preceded him in death. Jack was an avid deer and elk hunter. He loved woodworking. He coached his sons Little League baseball teams when they were youngsters.
Survivors include his four children: Vicki Ray and husband Brian, Jacksonville, FL; Julie Pennington and James Mills, Lawton, OK; Jackie Don Hollinsworth, Aberdeen, SD; and Larry Hollinsworth and wife Evelyn, El Paso, TX; twelve grandchildren: Craig Hollinsworth, Megan Crow, Ryan Pennington, Seth Mills, Kealan Mills, Melissa Walsh and David, Lindsey Sargent and Chris, Baylie Ray, Tyler Hollinsworth and Kylee, Troy Hollinsworth and Myriah, Dr. Heather Almodobar and Michael, and Jessica Hollinsworth and Drew Moses; and numerous great-grandhildren, and other relatives and close friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Shirlee Hollinsworth; his second wife, Virginia Price Hollinsworth; a son, Steven Hollinsworth; his siblings: Leon Hollinsworth, Roy Hollinsworth, Jean Blades, and Nancy Boring, and his parents, Marvin and Addie Hollinsworth.
Serving as pallbearers were Troy Hollinsworth, Tyler Hollinsworth, Craig Hollinsworth, Ryan Pennington, Kealan Mills, Billy Powell and Josh Brown.
