Arrest made in Meridian shooting

The Stephens County Sheriff's Department has released the following statement regarding the shooting in Meridian on Christmas Day:

On December 25th at approximately 3:16 p.m., the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, along with Survival Flight EMS and Meridian Fire Department, responded to a gunshot victim on Oliver Road in Meridian in Stephens County.  The victim, an elderly female, did not survive her wounds.  
The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from nearby agencies including the Duncan Police Department, Oklahoma Highway Patrol and OSBI Crime Scene Technicians.  After hours of canvassing and investigating leads, Deputies located a location where shots had been fired.  
After consulting with the District Attorney’s Office, Deputies placed Cody Wayne Adams under arrest.  Adams was booked into Stephens County Jail on one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree.
