A productive year
December 18, 2025
At the beginning of the year, when President Trump and Congressional Republicans began the start of our governance, we made several commitments to the American people. So, now, as we approach the end of 2025, I can’t help but reflect on the multitude of promises we have delivered on – many of which were accomplished through Congress’ One Big Beautiful Bill.
When it came to our nation’s immigration policies, the previous administration refused to enforce the law, resulting in a raging illegal immigration disaster. Massive surges of illegals, including criminals, gang members, and terrorists, were swarming our border, resulting in jeopardized national security and free reign for cartels to push deadly fentanyl into every community throughout the United States.
However, now, only a year later, we have seen a complete one-eighty. Illegal “getaways” at the border are down by 95 percent and migrant crossings are down by 99.99 percent. “Catch and Release” has been reversed, the Laken Riley Act has been signed into law, “Remain in Mexico” has been re-established, and border wall reconstruction has begun again.
The Republican crackdown on illegal immigration began on day one and now, as a result, our border is secure and every American is safer because of it.
Additionally, under President Trump’s decisive leadership, we have made national security a priority again. Through the One Big Beautiful Bill, we made generational investments in America’s defense with nearly $150 billion in funding for the Department of War, which will all be used to further Peace Through Strength initiatives, instead of woke, DEI policies at the Pentagon.
Furthermore, President Trump made a bold decision to airstrike Iran earlier this year. This was an important and necessary step to neutralize a direct nuclear threat to regional and world peace and stability.
When faced with danger, we must meet it with strength – and that is exactly what President Trump did.
I would also be remiss not to mention the historic Israeli hostage release. Watching these families who had been suffering for so long finally embrace their loved ones gave us all real reason for hope. That hope is thanks to the leadership and kept promises of the Trump Administration. They negotiated the release of the hostages, laid out a path forward, and brought the leading powers of the region together to the negotiating table for the first time in decades. Now, that is something to be proud of.
We made significant strides on the economy as well. Perhaps the biggest stride being our work to make the 2017 tax cuts permanent. Through the One Big Beautiful Bill, we have provided long-lasting financial relief to families, workers, and small businesses by protecting the average taxpayer from a 22 percent tax hike and increasing Americans’ take-home pay by as much as $13,300. I am so proud to have voted in favor of this legislation, as our duty is to the taxpayers.
Additionally, through this historic legislation, we unleashed our domestic energy potential, cut down on waste, fraud, and abuse of the taxpayer dollar, made modernization investments in the FAA, created jobs, and so much more.
So, in conclusion, Republicans have delivered the result that the American people voted for this year – and I look forward to continuing the progress in the new year.
A healthy Stephens County requires great community news.
