Plainview holds off Comanche boys, 65-47

The Plainview Indians got some well-timed baskets to keep Comanche at bay and pull away in the second half for a 65-47 win.
There were two lead changes and a tie in the first quarter before Plainview went on a 7-0 run. They would never trail again.
After falling behind 20-12 to open the second quarter, Comanche went on a 7-0 run with baskets by Cooper Epperson, Johnny Alvarez and Easton Bowen to cut the lead to 20-19 at the 6:04 mark.
Plainview's Collin Ladd scored his only points of the game on a three-pointer that broke up the run and Comanche would get no closer. Comanche threatened again later in the quarter cutting the lead to two, but Plainview would close out the final 2:30 minutes of the quarter on a 9-2 run to take a 36-27 halftime lead.
Once Plainview got the lead to double digits in the third quarter, Comanche was never able to get it back to single digits and Plainview went on to claim the win.
Comanche will take on Lexington in a consolation game Friday at 2:30 p.m.
