Football season comes to an end
November 14, 2025
Comanche seniors got to put on the shoulder pads for the last time of their high school career in the regular season finale at home.
The Indians, who were out of playoff contention, fell to Holdenville, 58-19, last Friday.
The Wolverines used several big plays to jump out early and cruise the rest of the way. Holdenville led 34-0 at the end of the first quarter and 50-0 at the half.
The Wolverines were up 58-0 in the third quarter when the Indians got on the scoreboard on a hard two-yard run by senior running back Klayton Smith.
Comanche would score later in the quarter on a 42-yard touchdown pass from Carson Vansickle to Cooper Dobbins. The junior caught the ball around the 15-yard line, made the closest defender miss with a side step and then beat the rest of the defense to the end zone for the score.
Comanche’s final touchdown came in the fourth quarter when Kanon Clift scored from three yards out on a direct snap.
The Indians finish the season 1-9 overall and 0-7 in district play.
Seniors playing in their final game were Jonathan Alvarez, Colby Cagg, Cooper Epperson, Bryson Goehart, Connor Johnson, Brandon Lombard, Joseph Molloy, Hollister Pollock, Klayton Smith, Erik Roy and Kanon Clift.
A healthy Stephens County requires great community news.
