June Davis

June Davis was born in Comanche, to Clifford and Marie (Short) Powers, on June 2, 1927.  She received her Heavenly promotion on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 3, 2025 at her home in Comanche.  A funeral service was held Nov. 7 at the Comanche First Baptist Church, with Dr. Mark Hall officiating, Interment followed at Fairlawn Cemetery, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home.
June attended school in Mabank, Texas and Comanche, where she graduated in 1945. She then attended Oklahoma College for Women, in Chickasha.  In August of 1946 she married L.D. McCreight. They were blessed with two children, Gary and Genenine. June was a member of Comanche First Baptist Church and taught children in Sunday School for many years.  She enjoyed gardening, reading, and traveling.  Later  she married George Davis, and they were married for 39 years.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Short; her parents, Clifford and Marie Powers;  her daughter, Genenine; brother Billy Don Powers and his wife Helen; sister Betty Anderson; her husband George Davis; and two step-sons, George N. Davis Jr and R.J. Davis.
June is survived by her son, Gary McCreight and wife Cherie, Sherman, Texas; a granddaughter, Jacobi Danforth, Moore;  grandsons Cary McCreight, Davis  and  Adam McCreight and wife Tera, Yuma, Ariz.;  two great-grandsons, Noah Danforth and A.J. McCreight;  four nephews:  Steve Anderson, Bruce Anderson, Mike Powers and Lance Powers; and other relatives and many  close friends.
