Lady Indians end regular season with win
October 02, 2025

The Comanche Lady Indians gave their seniors a win in their final home game of the season with a 6-5 win over Lawton MacArthur last Friday.
The teams battled in a close game throughout, with both teams leading at two different points of the game.
MacArthur took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first before Comanche tied in the bottom half of the inning. Cassidy Smith scored on a dropped third strike and Savannah Kelnhofer picked up an RBI single that scored Bre Gill.
Two innings later, Kelnhofer came through again. This time, she picked up a two-RBI single that scored Gill and Cloey Kinkade to give Comanche its first lead of the game.
MacArthur fought back in the top of the fourth with three runs to retake the lead at 5-4. The Lady Indians responded however, with two more runs in the bottom half of the inning. An error on a sacrifice bunt allowed Smith and Raelee Ellis to score.
Kinkade got out of a tight spot on the mound in the top of the fifth, getting a pop out to center field for the third out of the inning with the bases loaded.
MacArthur got two runners on in the top of the sixth, but couldn’t score. In the seventh inning, Kinkade recorded three straight outs to end the game.
Kelnhofer led the team, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Ellis, Smith, Kinkade and Rylee Pipkin each had a hit.
Kinkade was the winning pitcher, giving up two earned runs on nine hits. She struck out seven and walked three.
Comanche ends the regular season with a 9-22 overall record.
The Lady Indians will now travel to Heritage Hall on Friday for the regional tournament, where they will meet their county rival, Marlow, in the opening game at 1 p.m.
A healthy Stephens County requires great community news.
