Jose Raul Solis Rios

Jose Raul Solis Rios, age 67, a longtime resident of Comanche, peacefully passed away on Friday evening, September 19, 2025 at his home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, Sept. 22, at 2:00 p.m. at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel. Jose will rest beside his son, Raul, at the Fairlawn Cemetery. Viewing will be Monday 9:00 a.m. until service time.
Jose was born on Dec. 22, 1957, in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Jose Solis-Solis and Beatris Rios-Solis. He and Miriam Cruz were united in marriage in Mexico-Chapas, Mexico. They came to Comanche in 1994. He enjoyed drag racing, boxing, and exercising. He took great joy in taking his grandchildren to eat at Golden Corral. Another thing he loved was going out to eat and going dancing with Miriam. Jose loved the movie “McFarland” because it reminded him of his childhood, working in the fields with family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Miriam; four daughters: Koral Solis Serrano and husband William; Kassandra White and husband Jimmie; Krystal Solis and husband Ryan Brown; and Kandy Solis. One son, Jose Angel Solis and wife Deja; one brother, Rene Gilberto Solis Rios and wife Laurencia; two sisters: Rosalba Flores and husband Francisco; and Beatriz Salinas and husband Pablo; ten grandchildren: Vanessa Espinoza, Anthony Espinosa, Valerie Espinosa, Abigail Serrano, Genesis Serrano, Gabby White, Arabella White, Jimmie White Jr, Noah White, and Alara Solis. Also, one great-grandchild, Emiliano De La Rosa.
Jose was preceded in death by his parents, two infant brothers, and his son, Raul Abelardo Solis.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jose Solis, Jimmie White, Ryan Brown, William Serrano, Willfredo Flores, Alejandro Flores, Rolando Flores, and Anthony Espinosa.
