Class of 2025 bids farewell to CHS

May 22, 2025

The Comanche High School Class of 2025 gathered together for the last time last Friday in the high school gym.
The night featured student recognitions as a group and individually.
Jillian Hushbeck gave the valedictorian address and after thanking parents, coaches, teachers and administrators, she addressed her fellow graduates by offering words of advice.
“First, no matter what you plan to do with your life, do it to the best of your ability and with 100 percent effort,” Hushbeck said. “You will never regret giving your full effort.”
Hushbeck said it was also important to choose friends wisely.
“A true friend will never make you question their loyalty or friendship and a small group of great friends will always be better than a large group of mediocre ones,” she said.
In addition, she said to stay true to themselves.
“It’s okay to go against the grain and be different,” Husheck said.
She also advised embracing failure as a stepping stone to success and to welcome change and discomfort.
“And lastly, call your parents,” Hushbeck said. “For probably the first time in our life, we will not see our parents every day, so do not forget about the people who have supported us thus far,” Hushbeck said.
Hushbeck ended her speech by thanking her classmates for the experience.
“It has been a fun ride, and I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have,” Hushbeck said. “I wish you the best in all your endeavors and hope that we might meet again one day.”
Hushbeck was later named Miss CHS and Koble Lewis was named Mr. CHS. They each received a $1,000 Judy and Loyd Benson Scholarship.
The night had started with a welcome by class president Caity Ramsey and an invocation by Brilee Combs.
The valedictorian, co-valedictorians and the salutatorian were presented gifts.
After the presentation of the class, Superintendent Julie Bills and school board members presented diplomas and the night was concluded with the traditional hat toss.
