Purcell overpowers Comanche on hardwood

The Comanche basketball teams finished 2024 with home losses to visiting Purcell on Dec. 17.

Comanche had trouble getting its offense going, scoring in double digits in the first quarter, but unable to keep up the pace the rest of the way.
The Lady Indians trailed 19-10 at the end of the first quarter, but couldn’t keep the Lady Dragons within reach, scoring just one point in the second quarter and trailing 32-11 at the half.
Purcell continued to pull away in the third quarter with a 13-3 advantage before outscoring the Lady Indians 18-8 in the final quarter.
The loss dropped Comanche to 2-5 on the season with the loss.
Raelee Ellis led Comanche with nine points. She was followed by Jentry Whaley with six, Caitlyn Ramsey with four, Drai Sparks with two and Jaylee Roebuck with one.

Comanche could muster just 14 points over the first three quarters as Purcell pulled away to a big lead.
The Dragons led 16-6 at the end of the first quarter and 31-12 at the half.
Purcell kept the pressure up in the third, outscoring Comanche 21-2 before Comanche countered with a 17-6 advantage in the final quarter.
Comanche dropped to 2-5 on the season with the loss.
Colby Shannon scored 12 points to lead Comanche. He was followed by Brycen Lassley with nine, Jiovanni Demry with four and Easton Bowen, Payton Jones and Jonny Alvarez with two each.
