The Indians finished the season with an 11-13 overall record.
Game One
Alva 11
Comanche 4
The game started off well for the Indians, but they wouldn’t be able to hold on as the Goldbugs outscored them 10-1 over the final four innings to get the win.
Comanche took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second when Landen Steele drove home Clayton Brantner from third with a fielder’s choice.
The Indians missed an opportunity for a big inning as they started the inning with the bases loaded and no outs.
Alva came back and tied the game in the top of the third before Comanche retook the lead in the bottom of third with a two-out RBI single that scored Cooper Dobbins and Ty Lane.
The game started to get away from the Indians in the top of the fourth. Two batters hit by a pitch, a walk and an error opened the door for Alva to push across four runs. They would not trail again.
Comanche got one run back in the bottom of the fourth when Evan Dodd scored on an error to cut the lead to 5-4.
After a scoreless fifth inning, the Goldbugs broke the game open in the top of the sixth when three straight Comanche errors led to four Alva runs and a 9-4 lead.
The Goldbugs scored two more runs in the top of the seventh.
The Indians had three hits in the game with Brantner, Dobbins and Lane each getting a hit.
Only four of Alva’s 11 runs in the game were earned.
