Bobby Don Burton

Bobby Don Burton, a lifelong resident of Comanche, peacefully passed away on Wednesday morning, April 17, 2024 at his home. He was 63 years old. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 19 at 2 p.m. at the pavilion at Fairlawn Cemetery, with Pastor Matt Chambers officiating, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home.

Bobby was born June 29, 1960 in Duncan, to Calvin and Maxine (Bandy) Burton. He attended school at Comanche. He and Dana Tapp were united in marriage ion Oct. 7, 1985 at Wichita Falls, Texas. She preceded him in death in 2015. Bobby loved to go hunting and fishing, he especially enjoyed noodling. He also like to go coyote hunting where he would run his dogs. Bobby collected knives and guns, and also enjoyed coin collecting.

He is survived by his children: Jessica Koen and husband Ray, April Simon and husband Tyler, Brittney Burton and husband Aaron Cloud, and Dusty Burton and wife Madison. Fifteen grandchildren: Hunter, Haleigh, Jacie J’Don, Braedyn, Aleah, Chloe, Paisli, Ella, Avery, Emery, Remeigh, Ty, Jarrhett, Ryver, and a soon to be born grandchild. Two brothers: Calvin Burton, and John Lee Burton and wife Tess; five sisters: Mary Allen and husband Jerry, Judy Hendricks, Beverly Nored, and Barbara Newsome and husband Tommy, and Brandi Faulk; also numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Bobby was preceded in death by his wife Dana; parents Calvin and Maxine; and his sister, Betty.
