LINDSAY - The Comanche boys got over some first-quarter jitters to rally and hold off Frederick in a regional consolation semifinal, 53-52, on Friday.

The Bombers led 14-7 at the end of the first quarter, only to see the Indians storm back for 19 points in the second quarter to take a 26-23 halftime lead. Myles Ellis, Colby Shannon and Hunter Lassley each had a three-pointer to fuel the second-quarter run.

“We didn’t change anything (in the second quarter), we just quit turning the ball over, started making shots and got the nerves out,” said Heath Ellis, assistant coach.

The Indians stayed ahead in the third quarter, outsourcing the Bombers 15-11 to take a 41-34 lead into the final quarter.

Frederick made a run in the final quarter but never caught the Indians. Lassley, Comanche’s big man, came up big in the fourth, scoring eight of his team’s 12 points to secure the win.
