Tough tournament for CHS teams

The Comanche Lady Indians won their opener at the Latta tournament, but fell to Class A No. 1 Vanoss in the second round and lost to Washington in the third-place game.
The Lady Indians easily knocked off Rattan, 50-17. Comanche grabbed a 15-4 lead in the first and never let Rattan in the game from that point on.
Comanche had eight scorers in the game, led by Gracee Miller with 14 points. Kinley Rendon and Jasmine Francis had eight points each. Shayson Hodges was next with five points, followed by Kenli Morris, Brianna Keelling, and Caity Blair with four points each. Teagan Pineda rounded out scoring with three points.
In the second round, Comanche fell to Vanoss, 50-31. Comanche fell behind 16-4 at the end of the first quarter and while they were able to cut the lead to single digits more than once, they were never able to catch their opponent.
Gracee Miller led Comanche with 11 points, followed by Kinley Rendon with five, Jaylee Miller with four, Kylie Roden with three, Francis with three, Keeling with two and Blair with two.
In the third place game, Comanche stayed with Washington in the second through fourth quarters, but a 17-7 deficit after the first quarter was too much to overcome.

The Comanche Indians lost a pair of games at the Latta Tournament last week as they were unable to overcome several players missing due to quarantine.
The Indians lost to Latta in the opener, 35-28.
Comanche could muster just four points in the first quarter and three points in the fourth as Latta secured the win.
The Indians did score nine points in the second and 12 in the third, but it would not be enough.
Mason Kulbeth led Comanche with 12 points, followed by Landon Ellis with 11, Hadlee Rice with four and Xander Dodd with one.
On day two, the Indians lost to Holdenville by a 37-31 score.
Comanche scored four points in the first quarter and then scored nine points each in the second, third and fourth quarters. Kulbeth led Comanche with 17 points, followed by Landon Ellis with 12; Kadence Davidson with one and Jeremy Crisp with one.
