Basketball traveling for district

The Comanche basketball teams begin their postseason this Saturday at familiar foe Lindsay on Saturday. The girls game will be at 6 p.m., followed by the boys game at 7:30 p.m.

It will be the fourth meeting between the Comanche and Lindsay girls. The Leopardettes have won the first three games but after a lopsided 42-13 loss early in the season, Comanche has played Lindsay tough in the other two contests (45-35 and 42-30 losses).

The Lady Indians ended the regular season snapping a four-game losing streak by defeating Bridge Creek last Friday to move to 7-15 overall. Lindsay is 11-11 overall.

The Lady Indians have two wins over teams with winning records - Waurika (17-8) and Ryan (19-5). Lindsay has no wins over teams with a winning record.

The Indians will be looking to snap a a four-game losing streak. They have split their two games with the Leopards, a 53-42 loss on Dec. 12 and a 53-44 win on Jan. 30.

Comanche is 8-15 overall and owns wins over four teams with winning records - Am-Po (17-9), Marlow (17-5), Ryan (18-6 and Central High (15-9).

Lindsay is 11-12 overall. They own wins over two teams with winning records - Purcell (11-11) and Pauls Valley (15-7).

Comanche will travel to Lindsay also for the regional tournament. For the boys, a win by the Indians would guarantee them a game against Class 3A No. 1 Oklahoma Christian School, who received a district bye.

The Lady Indians will either face No. 5 Community Christian or Oklahoma Christian School in their regional first round game.

Other regional teams include Atoka, Kingston, Frederick and Marietta.
