One taken to hospital following shooting

12-20-23 Update: Officials have verified the alleged shooter as Dakota Lokey and the victim as his brother-in-law, Tyler Maddox. The incident took place at Lokey's home. Maddox is in stable condition at an Oklahoma City hospital.

One man was sent to the hospital and another taken into custody following an alleged shooting at a residence southwest of Comanche, approximately 1.6 miles east of Grandview School on E 1840 Road on Monday.

As of press time on Tuesday, names had not been released in the incident.

Stephens County Sheriff Wayne McKinney said dispatch received a 911 call at approximately 6:20 p.m. of two men fighting at the residence. During the fight, one male was shot. The injured male was taken by AirEvac to OU Medical Center with a serious gunshot wound.

The sheriff the suspect was taken into custody.

First responders from Comanche, Meridian and the Stephens County Sheriff’s Department responded to the call.
