David Pennycuff

David Pennycuff, age 77, a longtime resident of Comanche, peacefully passed away on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 14, 2020 in The Veteran’s Hospital in Oklahoma City. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
David was born April 22, 1943 in Frederick to John David and Bonnie Bell (Landrum) Pennycuff. After graduating from school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He and Bertha Cross were united in marriage on Aug. 28, 1971 in Frederick. David and Bertha owned and operated David’s Tire Shop in Comanche for many years. They made many friends and loyal customers over the years because of their outgoing personality and work ethic. David worked as a butcher and also owned many businesses through out his life. His hobbies including cooking, watching professional wrestling, playing dominoes and cards with family and friends, watching western television shows and movies. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Bertha, of the home; four children: Kristal Pennycuff, Wichita Falls, TX; Jayme Garcia and husband Manuel, Duncan, OK; Scott Pennycuff, Duncan, OK; and Richard Pennycuff, Mississippi. Also, seven grandchildren: Jessica Johnson, Julian Shoopman, Alexis Strait, Landon Bruno, Cheyenne Garcia, Makenzie Minks, and Jayde Garcia; one brother, Ricky Pennycuff and wife Kathy, Graham, Texas; mother-in-law, Ruby Cross, Comanche; and many nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Jimmy and Gary Pennycuff; two sisters: Betty Pennycuff and Patsy Throneberry; children: Marty Pennycuff, Tina Strait, and David Pennycuff.
