WMPN to host fentanyl awareness forum

October 12, 2023

The Comanche Chamber of Commerce and the Wichita Mountains Prevention Network (WMPN) will be hosting “The More You Know,” an educational forum to promote fentanyl awareness. The event is open to everyone and will be at the First Baptist Church of Comanche (315 Oak Main Ave) on Tuesday, Oct. 17.

The event will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. Speakers for the event will include Captain Kent Turner, with the Oklahoma National Guard Counter Drug Task Force, Stephanie Morcom with Ambrosia Treatment Center, and Lori Lovett with the Oklahoma State Department of Health. Food will be provided, and the event will include a Q&A session.

“We encourage everyone in the community to come out and attend, particularly parents and those with teens in their lives,” says Jennifer Gormley, Grants Director with WMPN. “Unfortunately, fentanyl is flooding our neighborhoods, and with two recent fentanyl exposures in Comanche recently, it’s vital that everyone learn how to protect themselves and their loved ones.”

If you have any questions, please contact WMPN Coordinator Gina Olheiser (golheiser@wmpn.org) or Chamber President Laura Lewis (comanchechamberofcommerce@gmail.com).
