Grant period opened for United Way

October 12, 2023

The United Way of Stephens County, Inc. is now accepting applications for our upcoming grant period to qualifying 501(c) organizations starting Oct. 12, 2023. Decisions regarding funding are made each year in February by a committee of 25 which includes community volunteers and United Way board members who will evaluate all proposals and tour prospective agencies.

“We encourage organizations here in Stephens County to entertain the possibility of joining us,” said Helen Stewart, executive director. “Our mission of the United Way of Stephens County, Inc. is to improve our communities’ quality of life by uniting resources in support of programs dedicated to helping people”

Existing agencies deal with basic needs such as food, utilities and clothing, children and youth programs, mentoring, counseling and referral services, domestic violence and sexual assaults, legal issues, developmental services, senior citizen programs and activities, serving our neighbors in Stephens County.

Completed applications must reach the United Way office by 4:30 pm on Tuesday Jan. 16, 2024 and are available at their office, 12 S. 8th Street, Duncan. For more in-depth information and requirements, contact Helen Stewart at 580-255-3648 or hstewart@unitedwayofsc.org.
