Hersel Glen Qualls
Hersel Glen Qualls was born in Velma on March 25, 1935, to Oda and Bertie Lorene (Wheeler) Qualls. He passed away Friday, July 14, 2023 in Duncan at the age of 88.
Hersel was a graduate of Alma High School. He married Bertha Mae Barton in Wichita Falls, Texas, on Feb. 4, 1952. Together they had four children: Wayne, Darlene, Lorrie, and David.
Hersel worked for Raymond Moore Funeral Home for 18 years and then owned Community Ambulance Service. He enjoyed camping, skiing, horses, and riding motorcycles. He loved to watch westerns 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! Most of all, he loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha; children: Wayne Qualls, Darlene and husband Johnny Cox, Lorrie and husband Stormy Rowe; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; three great-great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Donna Snyder.
Hersel was preceded in death by son, David Odie Qualls; son-in-law, Cleve Bethany; and sisters: Shirley Cox, Wanda Chapman, Brenda McNutt, and Joyce Biffle.
