Robinson named head girls basketball coach

Braydon Robinson has been named head varsity girls basketball coach at Comanche High School for the 2023-24 school year, according to a news release from Comanche Public Schools. Robinson will follow Meagan Robbins. Robinson will also serve as a math instructor at the high school. Robinson brings eight years of experience in educational excellence. His strengths include managing and improving team operations with diplomatic and resourceful leadership. He is a high-energy problem-solver knowledgeable about competitor strategies and talented in adapting team techniques to overcome challenging styles, the release said. Robinson received his education at Oklahoma Panhandle State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in math with a minor in business administration. He then was the high school math teacher and head girls basketball coach from 2015-21 at Turpin High School. While there, he had a winning record and helped establish a winning culture in his hometown. In 2021 Robinson moved to Hooker Public Schools where he continued as a high school math teacher, assistant girls basketball coach and assistant boys and girls cross country coach, through 2023. While there he was part of some successful programs. In the two years, the girls basketball teams were state semifinalists and state quarterfinalists. The girls cross country teams were back-to-back state champions and the boys cross country teams were state runner-ups and state champions. Comanche Superintendent Julie Bills made the announcement following the July board meeting."Mr. Robinson has a strong history of knowledge of basketball and relating to students," Bils said. "I am excited to see him join the Comanche family."
Robinson stated that being at Comanche is an opportunity to be a part of a great school district and community. He and his wife Julie have four children in age from one to seven."My family and I are super excited to become part of the Comanche community," Robinson said. I'm originally from Turpin. I love the Lord, my family and the Kansas Jayhawks. I'm passionate about sports and the classroom and I can't wait to share my passion with the school district."Bills announced that a meeting will be arranged in the near future for Robinson to visit with students, assistant coaches and parents.
