Larry Ray Loyd

Larry Ray Loyd was born in Comanche on Feb. 22, 1954, to Sherman Riggs Loyd and Oral Lee (Janoe) Loyd. He passed away on June 26, 2023, at his home.

The family has planned a memorial service for Friday, June 30, at 3 p.m. at the Freedom Biker Church, 803 W Walnut Ave., Duncan, with Pastor Billy Morgan officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.

Larry graduated from Comanche High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He worked as an IT Manager for Halliburton and Family Dollar before retiring. He married Tammy Sue (McLearen) Loyd on June 6, 2004, in Comanche. Larry loved his Mazda Miata, traveling, coffee, and chocolate. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Larry was a loving and kind husband, father, grandfather and friend.

He is survived by his wife; children: Dixie and Micah Thomson of Tulsa, Jeremiah Loyd of Duncan, Josh and Allison Morgan of Comanche, Joey and Mandy Morgan of Sulphur, Jonathan Morgan of Indiana; grandchildren: Lilyan Morgan, Wyatt Morgan, Jensen Morgan, Riley Ray Morgan, Marley Morgan, Rhylie Grace Morgan, Tyler Morgan, Everleigh Morgan, Olivia Bruner, Phoebe Simmons, and Rexton Jarvis; and sister, Patricia and husband Adam Krawczynski of Duncan.

Larry was preceded in death by his infant son, Kevin Todd Loyd; parents; and grandparents, Evie Duncan Rimmer and Ollie Loyd.
