Larry Lewis Welch

Larry L. Welch of Comanche passed away on June 4, 2023 at his home. He was 89 years old. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 12, 2023 at the Corum Baptist Church. Interment will follow, with full military honors provided by the Stephens County Combined Honor Guard, at Fairlawn Cemetery, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Viewing will be Sunday, June 9th from 12:00-5:00.

Larry is native to the Comanche area and returned to Comanche after retiring from the U.S. Army. In the Army, he served throughout the world including four tours to Viet Nam, and he was in Berlin when the Wall was erected. He is survived by his wife Joy and two sisters, Barbara Jarrett and Donna Wade. He was a loving father and has three children, two step-children, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded his first wife after 58 years of marriage in 2010, and his second wife in 2014.
