Vasil Jeannie Allison
Vasil Jeannie Allison, 93, died Sunday January 6, 2019 at the Meridian Nursing Home, Duncan, Oklahoma, after a brief illness.
Funeral services for the longtime Comanche resident will be held on January 9th at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Comanche, with the Rev. Ryan Sims officiating. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery. Viewing will be Tuesday from 1:00-5:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until noon.
She was born March 19, 1925 at Harris, Missouri, to Nova and Sarah (Hays) Glidewell. She moved to Comanche after she and John A. (Johnny) Allison were united in marriage on October 26, 1952 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they managed several businesses. Their latest venture which was operated until Johnny’s death in 1994 was the new/antique furniture business along with his auctioneering service, located on their farm, one mile south of Comanche. She gave up the farm life with his passing. They were both members of the First United Methodist Church.
Jeannie is survived by her only sister, Vada O’Dell (age 102) of Los Angeles, California. Vada is the only mother Jeannie knew, as their own mother passed when Jeannie was three years old. There are also numerous nieces and nephews with extended families, living in Kansas, Missouri, Texas, and Oklahoma. These family members along with a host of friends will mourn her loss. She is preceded in death by her husband, and four brothers.
