Roy Alvin Gildon

Roy Alvin Gildon passed away March 9, 2019 in the Lawton Fort Sill V.A. Center in Lawton, Okla..

Roy was born in Cache, Okla. On May 17, 1932 to Tillman and Cora Alice (Clark) Gildon.

Roy went to school in Cache and Tucker just north east of Comanche, Oklahoma. He lived in Stephens County most of his life.

Roy farmed for Freb Brown for many years, and worked for Stephens County driving a truck. Roy was in the Army at the age of 21. Him and his twin brother, Troy, went from Comanche to California and then on to Alaska.

Roy married Dixie Flurry Aug. 30, 1957. Roy left two sons, David and wife Vickie Gildon, Kenneth and wife Mary Gildon, a daughter, Scarlett Cedena and husband Cecil Howell, four grandchildren, Stephanie and husband Ray Fuqua, Knisley and husband Robert Miller, Brody Gildon and Dallas Sartin, brother Troy and Ima Gildon, and many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by Tillman Gildon, Cora Gildon, Deverl Gildon, Rachel Askins, sister Jo McGatlahin, three nephews and nieces, Curts, Floyd and Lavenia Gildon. These three were lost in a fire in Duncan in 1960.

There will e a memorial service some time next summer. His body was sent to the University of Oklahoma Health and Sciences Center.
