Oneva Ruth Lindesmith
Oneva Ruth Lindesmith, born on October 26, 1937, went home to her Savior on December 19, 2017, two months after her 80th birthday. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Bradley officiating. Interment followed at Duncan Cemetery under the care of Don Grantham Funeral Home. Born to Molee and Clara Gladys Love Dromgoole in rural Geary, Oklahoma, Ruth graduated from Comanche High School in 1955. She married Marion Leon Lindesmith on February 1, 1957 and had two children, Denny and Jeff. She was a devoted wife and mother, actively involved in her family’s daily activities. Her husband and children enjoyed an extensive breakfast every morning, and a full dinner each evening. She made an especially profound statement with her roast beef dinners on Sundays. She was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts Troop 417 and Sunday school teacher for many years. She was accomplished as a seamstress and home decorator. She was dedicated to listening and counseling those around her, not only her family but also neighbors, relatives, and friends. She worked at several home-based jobs over the years, finally settling at Mary Kay, where she earned numerous awards, and eventually became a Mary Kay director. She saw her work as a way to bless women by making them feel good about themselves. She enjoyed time with family, reading, and writing. She authored her autobiography and a collection of poems. Perhaps her favorite pastime, stemming from her childhood on the farm, was singing. She sang first with family, her brother Gene accompanying on the guitar, and then in church choirs in high school and as an adult. She brought her love of music into the home and passed that legacy on to her children and grandchildren. Ruth is survived by her children, Denny Leon Lindesmith of Ada and William Jeffrey Lindesmith and his wife Bonnie of Tucson, Arizona; his grandchildren, Traci Joy Marchand, Matthew Roy Johnson, Benjamin David Lindesmith, Ashley Brooke Lin, and Benjamin William Lindesmith; his great grandchildren, David, Elaine, Maya, Isabella, Gideon, and Providence; and her sister Anita Jo Martin. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Marion Leon Lindesmith, her parents, Molee Dromgoole and Clara Gladys Love Dromgoole, and her siblings, Joy Lea Dromgoole Hatcher, Betty June Dromgoole, Ronald Gene Dromgoole, and Billy Molee Dromgoole.
