Margaret Vonciel 'Vonnie' Cox
Margaret Vonciel Cox, a longtime resident of the Comanche area, peacefully passed away on Wednesday evening, March 6, 2019, at the age of 96.
Vonciel was born June 22, 1922 in Comanche to David and Leona (Parker) Belcher. She was a graduate of Comanche High School. She and Wandle “W.G.” Cox were united in marriage on October 7, 1942 in Comanche. In May of 1956 they moved to Tucson, Arizona. In 1975 they relocated back to Oklahoma, eventually finding their way back to Comanche in 1981. Vonnie loved listening to music, as well as singing, and she loved playing the harmonica. She and her sisters sang on a radio program out of Texas. Vonnie also enjoyed dancing, and raising horses.
Survivors include one son, Randy Cox and his wife Erlinda, Tucson, Arizona; and several cousins , and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.G.; her parents, David and Leona Belcher; and two sisters: Georgia and Martha.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the Comanche Funeral Home chapel with Bob Bentley officiating. Burial followed in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche. Condolences may be sent to email@example.com.
