Larry Todd Baldwin

Larry Todd Baldwin, 54, of Lawton, OK, won his battle with Esophageal Cancer and gained his angel wings on April 25, 2019 at his home. Larry was born September 22, 1964 in Perryton, TX to James & Faye Doyal Baldwin.

He graduated from Pampa High School and continued his education to receive his Masters in Education from the University of Arizona and then in 2001, he acquired his Bachelors of Music from Cameron College in Lawton, OK. Larry’s deep adoration for music began at a very early age. He began playing the piano in the 5th grade and loved classical music, but was deeply moved by the lyrics in the old hymns.

Larry’s passion in life was teaching his love of music through voice & piano to many students that came to love not only music, but the man teaching them as well. He orchestrated Choral Camp every summer in Eureka Springs, AR and had the honor to use his voice as a servant for others by singing at numerous Military Funerals. Before falling ill, Larry was a very devoted teacher and it certainly showed in the organizations he stayed active and involved with throughout his teaching career. During his teaching tenure, he held various offices in both the state and local levels of the Lawton Music TeachersAssociation, Oklahoma Music Teacher’sAssociation, National Music Teacher’s Association, Lawton Schubert Music Club, Oklahoma Federation Music Club and the National Federation Music Club. To say that Larry loved music and teaching would be an understatement. Not only did God bless him with these inspiring and beautiful talents, but also the gift of giving, as he was so willing to pass along the blessings to many students willing to learn.

Larry donated his body to science through the United Tissue Network, which enabled him to leave a lasting legacy by contributing to a wide variety of medical advancements and helping the improvement of medical practices. Even in our loss of Larry, he continued his selfless acts by helping others.

He is preceded in death by his dad, James Baldwin (February 17, 2010), brother-in-law, Tommy Batson (November 24, 2018) and a nephew, TJ Batson (March 20, 1978).
