Janet Etheridge Laminack
Janet Lea “Jan” Etheridge Laminack, a lifelong resident of this community, passed away unexpectedly early Friday morning, Nov. 1, 2019 in Tulsa, OK. She was 67 years old. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 1:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church West, with Pastor Randy Southerland officiating, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery. Viewing will be Wednesday, 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
Jan was born Jan. 24, 1952 in Duncan to Bill and Billie (Friels) Etheridge. She was a 1970 graduate of Comanche High School. On April 19, 1973 she and Edwin Laminack were united in marriage at the Meridian Baptist Church. She worked as a hairstylist for over 40 years, working at Hair Essentials until her retirement. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church West.
Jan and Edwin’s life revolved around their grandchildren, and they attended all of their school events. She was an avid OU Sooner fan, and Jan loved working in her yard and greenhouse. She loved the lake life, spending many enjoyable hours with family and friends at Lake Texoma. She loved keeping up with family and friends on Facebook and social media. They loved traveling with their “Sooner Cruisers” friends, and Jan and Edwin loved dancing to the “oldie goldies”. She loved her family dearly, and looked forward to celebrating holidays with them all.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Edwin Laminack; two sons: Corey Laminack and wife Keli, Columbia, California, and Kevin Laminack and wife Miranda, Blanchard; one brother, Steve Etheridge and wife Becky, Kingston; one sister, Tanna Gayle Peck and husband Rick, Duncan; a niece, who she considered to be like her daughter, Amy Clark and husband Brent, and their children Jacobi and Nathan; her grandchildren: Kiley Blubaugh and husband Garrett, Keely Laminack, Mason Laminack, Jaxon Laminack, Madi Laminack, and Cole Brewer; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless dear friends.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Billie Etheridge; her step-father, Burl Neighbors; and her sister, Sue Neighbors.
Serving as pallbearers will be Keith Woods, Ronnie Ferrall, Billy Shannon, Billy Ferrall, Val Ammer, and Quinton Fixico. Honorary bearers will be Nathan Clark, Garrett Blubaugh, Brady Henderson, Gage Miller, Mason Laminack, and Jaxon Laminack.
