Herbert Nile Macy
Herbert Nile Macy, a longtime resident of Comanche, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at the Lawton Veterans Center. He was 86 years old. A funeral service was held Saturday, March 9 at the Corum Baptist Church, with Bro. Bruce Humphries officiating, assisted by Bro. Roy Snider. Burial, with full military honors, followed at Fairlawn Cemetery, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home.
Herb was born November 2, 1932 in Berryville, Arkansas to Finley N. and Oral (Gates) Macy. He was a graduate of Barnhart High School, in Barnhart, Texas. On February 19, 1952 he and Margie Burnice Tomlinson were united in marriage at Carlsbad, New Mexico. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. They moved to Comanche in the early 1950’s. He worked for Halliburton, retiring after 32 years. He owned and operated Herb’s Rock Shop from 1988 until 2018. Herb was a custom hay bailer.
Survivors include two daughters: Kay Boyles, Comanche; Nita Prucha and husband Dave, Duncan; His grandchildren: Jason Boyles and Belinda Boyles; Justin Boyles and wife Shannon; Josh Boyles and wife Sarah; Kirk Prucha and wife Stacia; Clint Prucha and wife Jessika; and Brittany Boyles; he is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Zack, Jordyn, Kilee, and Autumn; and one brother, Daniel Bench and wife Sandy, Less Summit, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Margie, and one brother, Hobert Macy.
Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons and great-grandson.
