Calvin Leigh Potts
Calvin Leigh Potts of Comanche, OK passed away in his home April 27, 2019 at the age of 68. He was born in Duncan, OK on December 11, 1950, to Jesse Potts and Maxine (Peck) Potts. His funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home.
Calvin went to school in Comanche, and later Ventura and Thousand Oaks, CA, and he graduated high school in 1969. Calvin worked at various jobs before finding his gift of salesmanship and was a very successful mobile home salesman for several years in the Duncan area, and then for about fifteen years in Bullhead City, AZ before retiring and moving back to Comanche. He loved music, and his dream was to be known for his music as a songwriter. Calvin attended church with his family as a child and was saved at an early age and baptized in a Baptist church.
Calvin is survived by his son, Jeremy Potts, a sister Claudia Cox and her husband Truman, niece Jessie Genn and husband Chris, nephew David Cox and his wife Beth, uncle Ronnie Peck and his wife Janet, aunt Wanell Potts, aunt Cleta Peck, and several great -nieces, great – nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by two very special friends who grew up together with him in Thousand Oaks, CA and have remained his best friends, Terry Traver and Randy Mullenix.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Potts and Maxine (Potts) Martin, step-father Oris Martin, grandparents Bill and Myrl Peck, several other relatives and friends, including his good friend and cousin, Ranger Brown.
