Albert Leon Alexander Jr.

Albert Leon Alexander Jr., a resident of the Meridian community, peacefully passed away on Thursday morning, July 19, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 71 years old. A funeral service was held Saturday, July 21st at 10:00 a.m. at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Dee Bowen officiating, assisted by Curtis Reed and Buzz Carter. Interment, with full military honors provided by the Stephens County Combined Honor Guard, followed at Fairlawn Cemetery. Leon was born January 9, 1947 in Durant, OK. He was a construction worker for many years. He and Betty Chapman were united in marriage on November 5, 1966 in Henrietta, TX. Leon loved camping at the lake, and attending family get togethers. Survivors include his wife Betty, of the home; three children: Jeffrey B. Alexander and wife Cori, Comanche; Fred L Alexander and wife Bobbi, Comanche; and Kevin L. Alexander and wife Michelle, Ratliff City, OK; his father, Walter Elliott; six grandchildren: Ashley Alexander, Rebecca Vansickle, Sayge Rowe, Dakota Alexander, Kyle Alexander, and Dallas Nester; ten great-grandchildren and one soon to be great grandchild. Also surviving are three brothers: Walter E. Elliott, Larry Elliott and wife Dee, Mark Elliott; four sisters: Sara Weeakes and husband Wayne, Margaret Elliott, Carol Johnson, and Erin Noll; and many other relatives and close friends. Leon was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda; one brother, John Elliott, and a sister, Mary Best. Serving as pallbearers were James Atwood, William Helloms, Steven Helloms, Ray Helloms, Danny Elliott, and Chris Serratte. Online condolences may be sent to
