Students ‘Growing the Future’

Comanche biology students are getting a hands-on experience about life that is hard to get from a textbook.

With the help of a grant and the Oklahoma State University Stephens County extension office, the school now has a thriving “chicken garden.”

The project is in a fenced off area between two of the school buildings. There is a large concrete slab that has large planters for growing vegetables and off to one side is a chicken coop and chicken run built by the students.
