Pausing to remember the fallen
Memorial Day is seen by many as the official kick-off of summer, but it is also the most solemn of national holidays as Americans remember those who did not make it back from a war zone.
Monday morning, more than two dozen people attended a Memorial Day service hosted by the Stephens County Honor Guard at Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche.
The Pledge of Allegiance was said, followed by a prayer. Guest speakers at the event were State Rep. Marcus McEntire and State Sen. Paul Scott.
