Comanche, Area, County Say No To Medical Marijuana
The State Question concerning the legalization of medical marijuana was a very hot topic in the weeks and months leading into the Oklahoma Primary Election this past week. The state question passed by a very large margin 507,582 (56.86% Yes) to 385,176 (43.14% No) in statewide election results this past week. Locally, the medical marijuana question was defeated countywide in Stephens County 5,830 (55.4% No) to 4,686 (44.6% Yes). Comanche and area precincts also followed the county vote defeating the medical marijuana state question: Comanche Patterson Avenue Baptist Church 249 (54% No) to 212 (46% Yes); Meridian Church 215 (55% No) to 176 (45% Yes); Corum Precinct 177 (54.8% No) to 146 (45.2% Yes); Loco 99 (61.5% No) to 62 (38.5% Yes).
