CHS softball goes 2-2 on Colorado trip
The Comanche softball team returned home after a successful Triple Crown Tournament in Fort Collins, Colorado this past week. The Lady Indians went 2-2 over the course of Friday and Saturday. Comanche moved to 11-4 on the season. They were scheduled to travel to Marietta, Tuesday and host Kingston, Thursday in two critical district games. The Lady Indians currently sit in a tie for second in District 3A-4 with Kingston with 3-1 district records. Marlow leads the district with a 5-1 district record. The Lady Outlaws come to Comanche on Sept. 9 with their only district loss coming to Comanche.
Friday Comanche 13, Fort Collins, Colorado 3
The Lady Indians jumped out to a 9-0 lead after three innings and then cruised to the win the rest of the way. Comanche pounded out 12 hits in the contest, led by Brooklin Bain, who finished with four RBI. Comanche scored four runs in the second and five in the third. In the big third inning, Teagan Pineda, Bain, and Emily Roden all drove in runs. Brooklyn Gill was the winning pitcher with Kinley Rendon closing the door by pitching the final two innings, as they combined for a three-hitter. Bain, Roden and Caity Blair all had two hits to lead Comanche at the plate.
