Charlie Ralls Retires From Fire Department
This past week the City of Comanche and the Comanche Fire Department honored long time Firefighter Charlie Ralls. Ralls has served on the Comanche Fire Department for thirty-two years. Ralls currently serves as the assistant chief and has filled in as fire chief on numerous occasions during transitional periods. After serving the city and its citizens for over three decades he has decided to retire at the end of this month.
During his time with Comanche he has responded to over twelve hundred calls varying from grass and structure fires to car accidents. He also helped build the fleet of trucks the city currently has, doing much of the welding and fabrication for the tanks and pumping systems.
Charlie comes from a family dedicated to the service of Comanche. His father, Earl Ralls retired from working for the City of Comanche for fortysix years. His son Chuck also decided to follow in the family footsteps and currently serves as Comanche’s City Manager.
