Beautifully Different As Night and Day.....

THANKS “KEEP OKLAHOMA BEAUTIFUL!”: The City of Comanche competed earlier this year for a grant from the “Keep Oklahoma Beautiful” organization for a project in the community that would help beautify the City and also Oklahoma. The grant application was written by Comanche City Manager Chuck Ralls. The requested grant would supply the paint needed and a financial stipend for the labor and supplies to carry out the project. The City learned that they were selected as a grant recipient for the “Cowboy Opry” building beautification project earlier this summer and plans were made to complete the project as required by the grant. Just above, City employees Lester Lehew, Chris Jackson and Charles Dore tape off windows last week in anticipation of a night paint session into the early morning hours this past Saturday morning as shown at top shortly before 1 a.m. The night session time was selected due to the reduced traffic count at that time as well as reducing any possible chance of overspray of passing vehicles. The picture just above at right taken Sunday afternoon shows the beautiful transformation of the building located at the southeast corner of U.S. Hwy. 81 (Rodeo Drive) and State Highway 53. Thanks also to Comanche City Manager Chuck Ralls and to staff/employees for their efforts in helping to make Comanche more beautiful!
