Michael Robert Voss

Michael Robert Voss, 81, passed from this life on April 20, 2024.

Born in Missoula, Mont., on May 29, 1942, his family moved to Butte, Mont. where he enjoyed hunting, camping, and fishing in the mountains. Mike graduated from Butte High School in 1960.  Upon graduation, he enlisted and proudly served in the US Navy. Upon honorable discharge, he returned to Butte, where he met and married the love of his life, Linda Kay Spradling.

Mike, Kay, and their three children moved to Pampa, Texas in 1969 when he began working for Halliburton in the oilfields. The job later took the family to Winfield, Kan. in 1974. Mike eventually went international, working in China, India, Angola, Bolivia, and Singapore, retiring in 1999. Mike and Kay lived in Comanche at the time of his death.

Michael is survived by his wife of 61 years; children Kimela (Harley) Woods, Winfield; Kurt Voss, of the home, and Kip Voss, Cotter, Ark.; grandchildren, Kayla (Noah) Smith, Skyy Voss and Kyle Voss; Great-granddaughters, Peyton, Sadie, and Millie Smith; brother Dale (Theresa) Voss; sister, Vera Jackson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends he considered as family include the Dave Tasker family.

Preceded in death by his parents Fred and Alice Voss, sister Barbara Parke, and great-grandson, Ethan Smith.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken effect, and private services will be held at a later date in the mountains of Montana.
