Indians play at Bricktown

The Comanche baseball team suffered three straight losses in the week leading up to Spring Break, taking losses against Latta, Walters and Dibble. 

Comanche headed into Spring Break with a 2-3 overall record. The Indians will host Lexington in a key district game on Monday before traveling to Lexington on Tuesday for another.

The Indians got the opportunity to play in a professional ballpark, taking on the Demons at Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City.

Comanche got four hits in the game, but could not push across any runs.

Dibble scored two runs in the bottom of the first to take the early lead it would never surrender. 

The score remained the same until the bottom of the fourth when the Demons added another run. 

The Demons then put up three more runs in the bottom of the fifth. 

The Indians did themselves no favors hitting into inning and game-ending double plays in the sixth and seventh innings.

Landon Steele, Karson Vansickle, Colby Shannon and Cooper Dobbins all had hits in the game.

Steele took the loss on the mound, pitching six innings and giving up seven hits and two earned runs.He walked two and struck out eight. Dobbins pitched the seventh, giving up one run.

The Blue Devils took advantage of six Indian errors to score five unearned runs to take the win.

Comanche had taken an early 1-0 lead when Payton Jones drove in Colby Shannon on an RBI single to center field.

Walters came back to score three runs in the top of the third to take the lead. They would add two more runs in the top of the fourth to take a 5-1 lead before Comanche got one run back in the bottom half of the inning when Payton Jones picked up his second RBI single to score Ty Lane.

Jones led Comanche by going 2-for-3 at the plate. Karson Vansickle, Cooper Dobbins, Lane, Shannon all Clayton Brantner all had one hit.

Vansickle pitched six innings and took the loss on the mound. Cooper Dobbins finished the game by pitching the seventh.

Latta jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first two innings and kept the momentum going the rest of the way in a run-shortened game of four innings.

Comanche’s lone run came in the top of the third when Karson Vansickle scored on a sacrifice by Ty Lane.

The Indians were limited to just two hits in the game, a double by Cooper Dobbins and a single by Lane.

Landon Steele started the game for Comanche taking the loss. Colby Shannon and Dobbins also pitched.
